Fellowship Nomination

The ABAA Fellowship is the Association’s highest individual honor, recognizing members who have demonstrated exceptional, sustained leadership and service to both ABAA and the building enclosure industry.

Established in 2015, the Fellowship was created to acknowledge individuals whose contributions go well beyond participation—those who have worked tirelessly on behalf of the Association, taken on meaningful leadership roles, and consistently exceeded expectations in advancing ABAA’s mission. Fellows have made a lasting impact through their dedication, expertise, and commitment to excellence.

Recipients of the ABAA Fellowship are widely respected within the industry. Their influence and advancements are well known and recognized by peers, colleagues, and the broader building enclosure community. Through technical leadership, mentorship, advocacy, and service, Fellows help shape best practices, elevate professional standards, and strengthen the future of the industry.

Individuals elected to the Fellowship are entitled to use the professional designation FABAA (Fellow of the Air Barrier Association of America), signifying their distinguished service and standing within the Association.

The ABAA Fellowship not only celebrates past achievements, but also reflects a continued commitment to leadership, integrity, and the advancement of building enclosure performance.

Len Anastasi - 2015
Len Anastasi is a founding member and founding Board member of ABAA whose leadership and service span more than two decades, including being Chair of the Association from 2004-2006 and from 2009-2011. He was instrumental in initiating and leading ABAA’s annual conferences and served as Chair of the Conference Committee from 2011 to 2024, helping establish the event as a cornerstone of the association. Through continued involvement as a presenter and active contributor to the Technical, Research, Marketing, and Nominating Committees, Len has played a foundational role in ABAA’s growth, stability, and long-term success.
Roy Schauffele - 2016
Roy Schauffele has provided exceptional leadership to ABAA through long-standing service on the Board of Directors, serving as Chair from 2014-2016, guiding the association with stability, vision, and a commitment to long-term success. During his tenure as Chair, Roy led the development of a strategic plan, modernized the By-Laws to ensure leadership succession, and strengthened ABAA’s financial position, creating reserves that will support research initiatives for years to come.
Russell Snow - 2020
Russ has been an integral part of ABAA, showing his leadership in the association by serving as the Chair of ABAA from 2016 to 2019. Russ has participated in most, if not every task group and committee meeting, including the Technical committee, Marketing Committee, Conference Committee and the Nominating committee to name a few. Russ served on the Board as a Director from 2012 to 2024 and has participated on the Executive committee since 2015, assuming various roles.
Craig Wetmore - 2020
Craig Wetmore has been a driving force behind ABAA’s growth, visibility, and professional credibility for more than a decade while dedicating countless volunteer hours across committees, task groups, and leadership roles. As a long-serving Board member , and as Co-Chair of the Marketing Committee since 2013, Craig’s leadership has elevated ABAA’s profile and helped position the association as a recognized leader in research, technical information, certification, and education. Craig’s vision, business acumen, and commitment to mentorship have been instrumental to ABAA’s success and exemplify the spirit of ABAA Fellowship.
Robert Aird - 2022
Robert Aird has been a decades-long leader and advocate for air barriers, advancing industry standards through education, mentorship, and active involvement with ABAA and allied organizations. For more than ten years, he has been a leading voice for contractor members, serving on ABAA’s Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and as Treasurer, while generously contributing his expertise, leadership, and time to strengthen the association. Through his commitment to accessibility, professionalism, and excellence—including personally translating key resources into Spanish—Rob has played a pivotal role in expanding ABAA’s reach and impact across the building enclosure industry.
Brian Stroik - 2022
Brian Stroik has provided long-standing leadership to ABAA through service on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee for more than a decade, including his term as Chair of the Association from 2019 to 2022. As past Research Chair and an ABAA Symposium speaker, Brian has advanced ABAA’s technical direction while consistently championing construction quality, durability, and building performance. His passion for high-quality construction, combined with sustained commitment to governance, research, and education, has significantly contributed to ABAA’s growth and industry leadership.
Lance Robson - 2024
Lance Robson was a founding member of ABAA and a driving force in the early advancement of the air barrier industry, dedicating countless hours to the Technical Committee and helping establish air barriers as a core building practice. He authored and advanced the ASTM E2357 standard, presented extensively at ABAA’s early conferences, and played a pivotal role in bringing air barriers into building codes by championing their value for energy efficiency and durability. Lance’s tireless advocacy and leadership helped shape the air barrier industry as it exists today and continue to influence ABAA’s mission and success.
Andre Desjarlais - 2025
Andre Desjarlais has been a respected industry leader and steadfast supporter of ABAA, advancing the air barrier industry through his research leadership at ORNL, his guidance on ABAA research initiatives, and his commitment to objective, standards-based evaluation of air and water resistive barriers. Through extensive volunteer service—including leadership on the Board of Directors, Nominating Committee, Audit Committee, and Research Committee—Andre has provided mentorship, credibility, and strategic direction that have strengthened both ABAA and the broader building enclosure community. A trusted educator and collaborator, Andre has shared his expertise across North America through presentations, research partnerships, and industry forums, leaving a lasting impact on the association, its members, and the future of building performance.
Andrew Dunlap - 2025
Andrew Dunlap has provided dedicated leadership to ABAA through long-standing service on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee, including three years as Co-Chair of the Association from 2022 to 2025. As Co-Chair of the Research Committee and an ABAA Symposium speaker, Andrew has helped advance ABAA’s research priorities and shared critical insights with the broader building science community. His sustained commitment to governance, research, and knowledge-sharing has meaningfully contributed to ABAA’s growth and technical leadership.
Sarah Flock - 2025
Sarah Flock has provided dedicated leadership to ABAA through long-standing service on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee, including three years as Co-Chair of the Association from 2022 to 2025. As Co-Chair of the Research Committee, she has played a key role in advancing ABAA’s research agenda and strengthening the association’s technical foundation. Her sustained commitment to governance, research, and collaboration has significantly contributed to ABAA’s growth and leadership within the air barrier industry.
Benjamin Meyer - 2025
Ben Meyer has been a leading force in advancing air barrier and whole-building airtightness requirements through building codes and standards, including his leadership as Chair of ASHRAE 90.1 and his work to strengthen air leakage performance criteria. With 12 years served as a director for ABAA, Technical Committee contributor, and co-chair of the Codes Task Group Ben has played a pivotal role in expanding ABAA’s influence within codes, standards, and industry practice. A respected technical leader and educator, Ben consistently elevates the industry by promoting systems-based building performance, sharing research and guidance, and persistently driving improvements in design, construction, commissioning, and real-world performance.
