Who We are and What We Do
The Air Barrier Association of America (ABAA) is the leading authority on building enclosure systems, dedicated to promoting their benefits, educating the public, and advancing a professional air barrier trade nationwide. Through technical documents, expert guidance, and rigorous certification programs, ABAA ensures industry excellence and compliance with evolving standards. With webinars, a vast resource library, and networking events, ABAA fosters collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning to shape the future of energy efficient, airtight buildings.
Who We Serve
ABAA is the national voice of the air barrier industry and has raised the level of quality in the industry through a Quality Assurance Program and offers premier training, certification, product evaluations, contractor accreditation and site quality control audits. ABAA is active in the areas of research, education, standards development, building codes and technical resources for the air barrier industry. Our History
Founded over two decades ago, the Air Barrier Association of America (ABAA) began with a group of professionals establishing field installation standards, which evolved into the Quality Assurance Program and later expanded into comprehensive certification programs supporting the entire building process.
