An interactive 5-day in-person training program, centered on commercial blower door testing, featuring conceptual learning and practical hands-on instruction.
Blower Door Training Overview
The ABAA Blower Door Training is a 40-hour, 5-day program led by industry experts and blower door manufacturers. It trains both new and experienced technicians to plan, prepare, and conduct airtightness tests on commercial and large buildings, following industry standards. The goal is to equip participants with the skills to properly evaluate, test, analyze, and report on a building’s airtightness performance.

Conceptual Learning (Two Days)
For two days trainees will have conceptual learning in a classroom style setting. Topics include learning about the impact of airtightness on building performance, understanding testing equipment, and interpreting commonly referenced standards.

Hands-on Training (Two Days)
Using physical mock-ups and hands-on instruction trainees will spend two days learning to plan, prepare, conduct a blower door test.

Performing a Test (One Day)
The session concludes with learning to troubleshoot common testing issues, analyzing testing results, and report writing.
Blower Door Certification Overview
The ABAA Blower Door Certification program offers two certification pathways based on your expertise in large building blower door testing. Developed with industry leaders and blower door manufacturers, it meets ISO 17024 standards and recognizes individuals and businesses as experts in the field. Certification demonstrates your competence, provides national industry recognition, and includes promotion to over 5,000 professionals via ABAA’s website, social media, and newsletters.
