Andrew Dunlap, AIA, LEED AP, NCARB, FABAA

Andrew Dunlap’s primary work experience is in the analysis and development of exterior building enclosures with specific specialization in air barriers, rainscreen/cavity walls, curtain walls, roof systems, skylights, and waterproofing.  His work includes evaluating existing buildings, investigating problem buildings, revitalizing historic structures, thermal analysis of enclosure systems, and conducting field observation and system testing.   Project responsibilities include the collection of detailed building information, the evaluation of airtightness, hygrothermal performance, and energy efficiency, preparation of construction documents for remediation of existing buildings, new construction, and specialty facades.  His work often includes performing diagnostic field water tests as part of the forensic investigations or used to validate installed conditions.
Sarah K. Flock, NCARB, BECxP, CxA+BE

Sarah Flock is a Principal of Raths, Raths & Johnson, Inc., a national engineering, architecture, and forensics consulting firm specializing in the investigation, design, repair, and testing of building structures, enclosures, and materials.  She has 17 years of architectural experience and expertise in exterior wall systems’ water leakage, condensation, and moisture intrusion investigation and resolution, with a specialization in thermal performance and computational analysis of building enclosure systems and components.  She consults in the area of architectural peer review and commissioning of building enclosures and assembles, and provides litigation support and expert witness testimony on related building enclosure failures.  She serves on multiple ASTM International committees and is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA); Building Enclosures Council-Chicago (BEC-Chicago); Construction Specifications Institute (CSI); Exterior Design Institute (EDI); and American Society of Healthcare Engineering (ASHE).  A licensed architect in several states, she is certified as a Building Enclosure Commissioning Process Provider (BECxP) and a Commissioning Authority + Building Enclosure (CxA+BE).
Andrea Wagner Watts, LEED Green Associate

Andrea Wagner Watts is the Building Science Education manager for GAF, engaging with industry professionals to provide guidance, technical support and education for roof and wall assemblies. Andrea has more than 15 years of experience in the construction industry, successfully developing multiple sealants and air/water barrier system solutions and doing building science research. She is always working to improve the overall performance of the building enclosures through application innovation, research and industry knowledge sharing. Andrea has published on building science, assembly interfaces, durability and resilience and is the holder of multiple patents. In addition to involvement with the ABAA, she chairs the ASTM E06 and D08 Task Groups on air barriers assemblies.
Craig Wetmore, FABAA, CDT, EBS

Craig Wetmore, President of York Manufacturing, brings extensive expertise in through-wall flashings, moisture management, transition detailing, and wall system components. He is engaged in the building industry community and holds memberships with CSI, IIBEC, RAiNA, ASTM, and the Air Barrier Association of America (ABAA).

Within the ABAA, Craig serves in leadership roles—serving as First Vice-Chair, co-chairing both the Marketing and Nominating Committees, and representing the ABAA on the RAiNA board of directors. Additionally, he is the Managing Director of the Spec ME charity event, in efforts to foster industry advancement and community engagement.

Craig collaborates with architects, engineers, installers, general contractors, AIA chapters, Building Enclosure Councils, and CSI chapters to advance discussions on flashing systems and building science. His focus includes ensuring compatibility between wall flashings, air barriers, and insulation materials, while also addressing lifecycle costs, transition solutions, and best practices for installation across various flashing types. The York Manufacturing team has developed numerous innovative products aimed at improving water management within the building envelope, helping to solve persistent challenges in the field.

Matt Giambrone, CABS

Secretary – ABAA, OCP Contractors, Inc., Chair of the ABAA Contractors Committee

At a very young age Matthew Giambrone was introduced into the construction industry by his mother and father who owned and operated a general contracting and masonry contracting company. At 17 years old, he started his masonry apprenticeship with local 5 Bricklayers and Allied Craftsmen. Matthew has experienced almost every facet of the construction industry; including accounting and payroll, jobsite deliveries, large equipment shipping, and installation. In 2010 Matthew became a certified level 3 ABAA installer in spray foam, fluid applied, and self-adhered membranes. After the passing of his father in 2014, an avid ABAA member and supporter, Matthew took on the role of Estimator and Project Manager for the spray foam company he and his father started, establishing himself in the city of Cleveland as an industry leader. In late 2015, OCP Contractors, Inc. acquired the foam company along with Matthew’s knowledge to create and manage division 7. Matthew is a member of the ABAA QAP Committee, Chairman of the Contractors Committee, and is now a member of the Board of Directors for the ABAA. Matthew most recently won the ABAA Excellence Award with OCP.
Amy Baker, AIA, LEED AP, CSI, CDT, SCIP

Director of the ABAA, Treasurer – Air Barrier Association of America, Amy Baker Architect

Amy Baker is a Registered Architect and Specifications Consultant with over 20 years of experience in commercial construction. She specializes in the technical development of projects with a passion for enclosure detailing, building science, codes, and specifications. Amy is pleased to serve on the Board of Directors for the Building Enclosure Council (BEC-GD), the Detroit Chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), Specification Consultants in Independent Practice (SCIP), and the Air Barrier Association of America (ABAA). She is also on RIB SpecLink’s Product Innovation Advisory Board, where she contributes ideas for improving the functionality of one of the leading spec writing platforms in North America. Amy holds two degrees from Lawrence Technological University, where she has been recognized as the university’s 26th Distinguished Architecture Award Recipient.
Brian Stroik, FABAA, CABS, CRIS

Brian Stroik is a Performance Excellence & Quality Consultant for American Contractors Insurance Group, where he consults for some of the largest construction managers in the country on the topic of quality. He brings a unique perspective to his clients as a former union-trained carpenter/superintendent, residential construction company owner, and having himself been a quality assurance manager for a billion-dollar national construction manager.

Brian is a frequent speaker on the subjects of commissioning the building enclosure (BECx), quality in construction, and mockups/first-run studies. He has also chaired numerous speaker sessions at national conferences, and also assists various national organizations with their national conferences. Brian has been active in the construction industry for over 20 years and has held numerous leadership positions with the following various affiliations:

Andre Desjarlais

Director of the ABAA, OakRidge National Laboratory

André Desjarlais is the Group Leader for the Building Envelopes Research Program at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He has been involved in building envelope and materials research for 40 years, first as a consultant and, for the last 22 years, at ORNL. He is active in the building industry, participating in ASHRAE, ASTM, Cool Roof Rating Council, SPRI, RCI Foundation, Roof Industry Committee on Weather Issues, Federal Roofing Committee, and the Building Environment and Thermal Envelope Council. Areas of expertise include building envelope and material energy efficiency, moisture control, and durability.
Peter Barrett

Director of the ABAA, Dörken Systems Inc., Chair of the ABAA Audit Committee

Peter Barrett is the Product Manager and Marketing Manager for Dörken Systems Inc., and has been with the company for over 11 years. His involvement with the design community and building materials industry spans over 25 years. Peter holds a BA (Hons.) from Queen’s University and an MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University, and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Air Barrier Association of America (ABAA) and on the Audit Committee. Peter has also contributed to The Construction SpecifierConstruct CanadaTunnel Business, and Masonry Magazine.
Adam Ugliuzza P.E., CPHC

Director of the ABAA, Sustainable Building Partners

Adam Ugliuzza brings 16 years of engineering experience focusing on building science and the building enclosure construction industry. Discipline expertise includes building enclosure consulting and commissioning services for new and existing construction, in addition to forensic investigations to determine root cause of building performance issues. He also brings industry leading expertise in large building whole building airtightness testing, which is at the forefront of high-performance building construction. Adam continues to work on projects across the United States and abroad providing professional building enclosure consultation in both the residential and commercial space for all types of construction, ranging from multi-family wood/timber framed buildings to high performance institutional/healthcare facilities to high-rise construction. Through this experience, Adam brings a unique approach to building enclosure consulting and testing, concentrating on enclosure interface coordination in design and construction phases of the project that overlays a holistic approach, critical to achieving high performance building construction; the goal to help ensure all the materials, systems, and assemblies are properly connected to provide continuous environmental control. His extensive testing knowledge allows him to be deliberate and methodical in his approach to interweaving functional testing to verify performance.

Adam is also active in many industry associations including Air Barrier Association of America (ABAA), Passive House Institute US (PHIUS), Construction Owners Association of America (COAA), United States Green Building Council (USGBC), etc. and has co-authored numerous technical papers, guidelines and standards; fundamental to an industry leading professional.

John Posenecker, P.E.

Director of the ABAA, Terracon Consultants, Inc.

John Posenecker is the Senior Principal and the Building Enclosure Practice Leader for Terracon Consultants, Inc. He is a registered engineer in the State of Texas and Oklahoma. His experience includes the design, construction, testing and forensic investigation of building envelope systems. Previously, he was an Estimating Manager with Chamberlin Roofing and Waterproofing from 2005 through 2015, Project Manager for Advanced Environmental Concepts from 1997 through 2005, an Engineering Team Leader at Southern Company Services from 1987 through 1997, and a Senior Engineer with Bechtel Power from 1982 to 1987.

Throughout his career, Mr. Posenecker has participated in a wide variety of projects associated with the building envelope that include containment systems for commercial nuclear power plants; noise control systems for commercial and institutional projects; and waterproofing for commercial high-rise office and multi-family buildings, medical and educational institutional projects, and large concrete structural projects. Mr. Posenecker specializes in waterproofing and cladding systems associated with the building envelope. He is an active member in several professional organizations including the National Institute of Buildings Sciences (NIBS), the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), the International Concrete Restoration Institute (ICRI). He is also on the executive committee for the National Building Enclosure Council.

Gilbert Alvarez

Director of the ABAA, Alpha Insulation & Waterproofing Inc.

Gilbert Alvarez is the operation manager for Alpha Insulation & Waterproofing an IBP Company where he has held various positions since joining them on January of 1989. He has 35 years of construction industry experience and over 25 years of management experience in sales, marketing and operations. He has been actively involved with various construction industry organizations such as Associated General Contractors, American Subcontractors Association and has served on the Board of Directors for the Associated Builders and Contractors. Gilbert currently serves on the ABAA Board of Directors. He is a devout husband and father and is active in his local church and community.
Mike Bingley, AIA, NCARB

Director of the ABAA, R.J. Kenney Associates, Inc.

Mike Bingley is an Architect & Consultant for R. J. Kenney Associates, Inc. in Plainville, MA. He has a Bachelor’s of Architecture degree and is a registered Architect in Massachusetts and Florida. Mr. Bingley has over 20 years of experience in the field of Architecture including the design and construction of multifamily housing, commercial, light industrial, and institutional buildings. His building envelope experience extends from detailing of air barrier systems and includes existing building envelope investigation, evaluation of failed building enclosures, historical analysis, restoration design and repair, field testing, and construction management.

Mr. Bingley volunteered and served 3 years as Vice Chair on the Planning Board of his community and partnered to form his own Architecture firm from 2006-2011.

His professional affiliations include BSA, AIA, and NCARB.

John Chamberlin

Director of the ABAA, Georgia-Pacific Gypsum

John Chamberlin is the Senior Director of Product Management for Georgia-Pacific Building Products.  Mr. Chamberlin has worked in the construction products industry for his entire career with most of his work focusing on new product development for disruptive technologies in the building envelope and building enclosure space.

Mr. Chamberlin is actively involved in the building industry, serving as a director for the board of the Air Barrier Association of America, Chair and member of multiple committees for the Air Barrier Association of America as well as the Engineered Wood Association and an active participant of his local Building Enclosure Council.

Mr. Chamberlin is a frequent speaker on the subjects of:  new innovations in construction materials, quality and continuity of the building envelope, and new construction processes such as offsite construction.  Numerous articles by Mr. Chamberlin have been published in The Construction Specifer, Interface, and Walls & Ceilings magazine as well as other trade publications.

Mr. Chamberlin graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Science degree in business and later received his Masters of Business Administration from Emory University.

Matt Nelson

Director of the ABAA, ECO Commissions, Co-Chair of the ABAA Marketing Committee

Matthew Nelson is a licensed mechanical engineer who has worked in the commissioning and consulting engineering fields since 1996. His experience includes work involving the building enclosure, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems in various building types including health care, institutional, commercial, and government.

One highlight of his career was the role he played in the development of ASHRAE’s commissioning (BCxP) and building energy assessment (BEAP) certification examinations with other internationally recognized commissioning and energy experts.  Following the implementation of these exams he served as the chair of ASHRAE’s Certification Committee.  Closer to home, he is a past-president of the ASHRAE Cleveland Chapter, and a co-chair of the Building Enclosure Council Chapter in Cleveland, using these positions to not only promote learning about the built environment, but to help others grow as leaders in this field.

Currently, Mr. Nelson is the managing principal of ECO Commissions.  A company he formed specifically to provide high‐quality, third‐party independent commissioning services. Since then, they have developed their practice areas to include, design review, testing and instrumentation, energy assessments, and forensic investigation. These services have application in both new and existing facilities and focus on achieving sustainable, high‐performance buildings.

Julie Szabo, CABS

Director of the ABAA, Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc.

Julie Szabo is an Associate Principal with Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc., a global firm of engineers, architects, and material scientists committed to helping clients solve, repair and avoid problems in the built world. She has over twenty years’ of dedicated experience in building science and building enclosure consulting with expertise in the investigation of enclosure performance issues related to air leakage, water infiltration, thermal performance, and condensation. She provides enclosure consulting and commissioning services on a wide variety of building types including, residential, commercial, institutional, and healthcare projects worldwide. Julie actively serves on various Air Barrier Association of America (ABAA) technical committees and is the past-Chair of the Building Enclosure Council of Washington, DC.
Keith Nelson, NCARB, AIA, CDP, BCxP

Director of the ABAA, DuPont Building Performance Solutions

Keith P Nelson is currently the Commercial Application Development Leader/Fire Performance SME for DuPont Building Performance Solutions. Prior to joining DuPont with over 20 years of experience in the building construction industry, Keith worked as a Senior Principal for an engineering services firm where he led a team of Engineers and Architects providing building enclosure consulting services for design and construction projects across the US and internationally. He is a licensed Architect in multiple states and joined DuPont PBS with strong experiences in building science, building enclosure forensics, enclosure commissioning, field performance testing, and is an industry as an expert in NFPA 285 compliance. Keith actively serves in multiple organizations, including ASHRAE SSPC 90.1 and SSPC 160; ASTM E06 and E05; and the ICC code development process. Keith lives in Virginia and holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.
Cody Shelner

Director of the ABAA, Functional Coatings, Co-Chair of the ABAA Technical Committee

Cody Shelner is an expert in the pressure sensitive adhesive and self-adhered membrane industry, with extensive knowledge and experience in the field. With a passion for innovation and a deep understanding of construction materials and their interaction with adhesives, Cody has made significant contributions to the development and advancement of adhesive technologies for self-adhered membranes. Cody’s dedication to the industry extends beyond his professional endeavors. He actively participates in industry associations and committees, working collaboratively to establish standards and best practices for adhesive performance evaluation. His contributions have been recognized and appreciated by his peers, earning him a reputation as a trusted advisor and thought leader in the field.
Guy Long

Director of the ABAA, PROSOCO

Guy Long is PROSOCO’s Air Barrier and Waterproofing Specialist. He possesses more than 43 years of experience in the construction industry in the U.S. Southeast and Northeast regions. Long has worked in a wide array of construction categories, from hotels and theme parks to historical restoration, office, retail and institutional projects. Based in Orlando, Fla., he currently works to promote PROSOCO’s R-GUARD Air and Moisture Barrier technology for the building envelope on new and remedial applications. Long is an active member of the Construction Specifications Institute and has served as President and Director of the group’s Orlando chapter for 10 years. He is also a voting member for PROSOCO and Co-Chairman for the AAMA 714 Fluid-Applied Air Barrier Committee, as well as an active participant in the E06 Committee of ASTM.
Bart Butler

Director of the ABAA, Quality Director, Nabholz Construction

Bart Butler is a Quality Director with Nabholz Construction. His more than six years at Nabholz has been split with his work as a Senior Preconstruction Specialist; the role in which he joined Nabholz. Preconstruction turned out to be a natural progression from his 25+ years practicing as an Architect with HOK of Kansas City, Missouri and RDG Planning and Design of Des Moines, Iowa. Architecturally, Bart worked primarily in sports and recreation projects ranging from small rural community wellness facilities to professional sports venues where he enjoyed working with communities, colleges, universities and professional sports organizations to arrive at unique solutions for their new and remodeled facilities. Bart has led his teams from a technical point of view when developing designs into Construction Documents, and this has served him well in his transition into Construction Management and Nabholz’ Quality Team. Bart maintains
architectural registrations in Missouri and Iowa, is active in The Air Barrier Association of
America (ABAA), The American Institute of Architects (AIA), Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), and is Design Build Certified (DBIA). He is also certified as a Building Enclosure Commissioning Process Provider (BECxP) and Commissioning Authority + Building Enclosure (CxA+BE).
Michael Repka, Licensed Architect, AIA, LEED AP

Director of the ABAA Quality Manager, Hoffman Construction

With nine years of architectural experience, Mike Repka brings a unique perspective to construction and quality management, emphasizing thorough planning to ensure materials are installed correctly the first time. He prioritizes early project involvement, leading preconstruction drawing and specifications reviews to ensure documents are complete, coordinated, and constructible before construction begins. As the project transitions to the construction phase, he works closely with project teams to identify potential risks and develops quality plans to mitigate these challenges, ensuring quality execution in the field.
Mike has worked on diverse, complex building types including high-rise towers, college campus laboratories, and underground transit stations, applying lessons learned to every project. His architectural background enables effective communication with designers, construction teams, and on-site installers, while his technical expertise helps resolve construction issues at any project stage. This balanced approach ensures quality goals are clearly communicated from design through final construction.
