SUMMARY:2025 CSI National Conference
DESCRIPTION:No matter your role in the built environment\, it’s critical to stay ahead of the trends and changes shaping our industry. The 2025 CSI National Conference will show you how.  With 400+ AECO professionals from across the country all under one roof\, we’ll work together to tackle project challenges and explore innovative ideas and solutions. packed with peer-reviewed sessions focused on emerging technologies\, the future of specifications and construction documentation\, and practical insights you can use right away. These sessions are approved for CSI\, AIA\, and HSW learning units\, so you can earn credit while staying informed. \nRegister Here \nABAA Members Presenting at CSI\nAmy Baker – Session: Social Media for Architects (and Spec Writers)!\n\nStruggling to stand out in the crowded AEC industry? Many architects and specification writers create incredible work but fail to leverage social media effectively. This session will tackle the biggest challenges professionals face—lack of time\, strategy\, and engagement—while debunking common myths about online branding. You’ll learn practical strategies to create compelling content\, grow your audience\, and turn followers into clients. From platform-specific tips to engagement hacks\, this session provides actionable solutions tailored for professionals. \nBy the end\, you’ll walk away with a clear strategy\, content ideas\, and the confidence to make social media work for you. Whether you’re new to digital marketing or looking to refine your approach\, this session will give you the tools to establish your brand\, expand your influence\, and generate real opportunities. \n\n\n\nRyan Dalgleish – Session: SPECtacular Updates to Air and Vapor Barrier Specifications \n\nThere are not enough hours in the day to keep up with all the changes related to the building enclosure. Changes to codes\, materials\, strategies\, and green programs can make you dizzy and ready to just give up! Well\, do not fear\, the Air Barrier Association is here! In this session we’ll discuss the most up-to-date test methods\, standards\, and key items to update in your specifications\, and the impacts of moving to net zero buildings. We’ll also discuss how building airtightness plays a key role. We must go from “okay” building enclosures to super-high performance to not rely solely on renewables to meet net zero goals. But it’s not just about air\, we need to talk about moisture too. We’ll review important aspects to consider from a moisture management strategy. \nView The Full Presentation Details

SUMMARY:BE Live - Energy Efficiency Symposium
DESCRIPTION:Building Enclosure Live – Energy Efficiency Symposium\n\nDevelopment and Adoption of Air Leakage in Building Codes\nAll Codes are Local\nSponsored by Air Barrier Association of America | Presented by Theresa A. Weston \nLive Webinar Airing on October 16\, 2025 at 11:00 AM ET \nRegister \nModel energy efficiency codes (ASHRAE 90.1 & International Energy Efficiency Code (IECC)) are under continuous maintenance and publish an updated edition every three years. The energy code\, however\, does not become a regulation until it is adopted by a state or jurisdiction. Therefore the timeline for updating varies by individual jurisdiction. Further\, the adopted code must than be enforced by local authorities. This presentation will discuss the development of air leakage requirements in the model energy codes for commercial buildings. It will then describe the status of adoption of model codes by the states. Finally\, the implications for enforcement through whole building airtightness testing of the adopted code will be discussed. \n\nDesigning Roofs to Withstand Nature’s Worst\nKey Considerations to Help Your Roof Withstand the Next Big One\nSponsored by Air Barrier Association of America | Presented by Andrea Wagner Watts and Erin Andes\, PE \nLive Webinar Airing on October 16\, 2025 at 01:00 PM ET \nRegister \nAs the saying goes\, when nature is at its worst\, buildings need to be at their best. Roofs at their base level are designed to keep weather out. As weather gets more extreme\, roofs are being asked to withstand even more: manage more water\, defend against larger hail and stay on during high winds. \nDuring this webinar\, you will learn about the new wind requirements in ASCE 2022\, best practices for designing for very severe hail\, and ways to manage water from large rain events.

SUMMARY:Building Envelope Solutions: Building Code Compliance for Fire\, Air\, Water\, and Vapor 1.0 CEU/HSW
DESCRIPTION:Building Envelope Solutions: Building Code Compliance for Fire\, Air\, Water\, and Vapor\nThis presentation discusses the key Building Code and Industry Standards for meeting fire\, air\, water\, and vapor requirements in Residential and Commercial construction projects. The building envelope is an essential integrated system in new construction. When system components are incorrectly installed or if the system is poorly designed\, the potential for air leakage and moisture problems greatly increase. Evolving building products and material technologies\, as well as designed assemblies\, achieving code compliance with required fire protection\, air and water barrier\, and vapor permeance are identified. Selecting the appropriate building materials and proper installation techniques are addressed for creating a barrier and protecting the structure. \nLearning Objectives: \n\n Discuss Building Codes and Industry Standards for fire\, air\, water\, and vapor.\n Discuss Energy Code Compliance and Energy Rebate Programs specific to climate zones\nIdentify Building Code Solutions with building materials\, assemblies\, and construction design.\nDescribe installation and testing for a variety of building materials that meet fire performance\, air barrier/water barrier\, and vapor retarder requirements.\n\nRegister Now \nJames Toth\, VP of Sales\, No-Burn\, Inc \nJames Toth is the Vice President of Sales at No-Burn\, Inc.\, where he leads national sales initiatives in the fire-retardant coatings industry. He previously served as Regional Sales Manager for the Midwest region. With a background in construction project coordination at United Glass & Panel Systems\, James brings hands-on experience in building systems and materials. He is also a Marine Officer in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. James holds both a B.S. and an MBA from Ashland University\, where he was a student-athlete and active in business leadership programs.
