SUMMARY:CSI National Conference 2026
DESCRIPTION:Laverne Dalgleish\, Executive Director of ABAA\, will be presenting at the CSI National Conference 2026\nThere is confusion across the US about what is the difference between a vapor barrier and an air barrier. At first glance it should be very simple and that is true if you are only looking at the material. However\, if you start to put it in a building\, that’s where the confusion starts. The session will cover what are all the barriers\, why do they change depending on where they are placed in a building assembly and how they are installed. It will also show that physics does not change no matter the type of building or where it is being built. \nLearning Objectives: \n\nDifferentiate among air barriers\, vapor barriers\, and water-resistive barriers\, and explain how each contributes to moisture management\, indoor environmental quality\, thermal performance\, durability\, and occupant health and safety within building enclosure systems.\nAnalyze how environmental conditions\, climate\, and building assembly location influence barrier material properties and performance\, including their role in controlling condensation\, air leakage\, and moisture migration that can affect building durability and occupant welfare.\nCritique how installation quality\, sequencing\, and continuity impact the real-world performance of barrier systems\, and identify common failures that may lead to water intrusion\, mold growth\, energy loss\, and compromised building performance.\nEvaluate the performance of barrier materials within different wall and roof assemblies to support resilient\, code-compliant\, energy-efficient building enclosures that protect occupant health\, safety\, and welfare.\n\nLearn More and Register

SUMMARY:Raise Your Expectations of Continuous Insulation & Air Barrier Systems 1.0 CEU/HSW
DESCRIPTION:Current construction practices have spurred innovation in continuous insulation and air barrier technologies. Specifiers need a solid grasp of continuous insulation\nand air barrier fundamentals in order to ensure wall systems function as intended. This course will provide an overview of continuous insulation and air\nbarrier technology options for in-field and off-site construction. In addition\, I will discuss critical considerations including material compatibility\, whole system testing and warranty coverages for overall building protection and performance. \nLearning Objectives: \n\nIdentify how current construction industry trends are impacting continuous insulation and air barrier products.\nEvaluate the benefits of continuous insulation and air barrier systems including innovations that have increased the performance\nClarify how whole system testing for continuous insulation and air barrier systems can increase total building performance.\nRecognize how to evaluate\, meet requirements for\, and understand benefits of continuous insulation and air barrier whole system warranties.\n\nRegister Now \nVanessa Henley\, Category Manager\, Facades\, Tremco CPG Inc \nVanessa Henley is the Category Manager of Facades at Tremco CPG Inc. In their role\, they determine the strategy for Tremco Insulation\, Finishes\, and Air Barriers. She manages the Facades team comprising product and technical experts. Vanessa has been a member of the Tremco product management team for four years and focused their career on product management and product development. She is an active member of the marketing committee for the Air Barrier Association of America.
