Top 10 Unknown Enclosure Requirements + Enclosure Process

January 9, 2025 @ 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM EST

The “Top 10 Unknown Enclosure Requirements” covers essential yet often overlooked elements in building enclosures. Topics include punch window selection, glass calculations (GLASS CALCS), and adherence to ANSI SPRI ES-1 and ASCE 7 standards. It addresses the importance of adhered masonry, curtain wall details at floor, and NFPA 285 letters for fire safety compliance. Additionally, it explores WBDG guidelines for overhangs, air barrier verification, and the energy code requirements during construction administration (CA). As a bonus, it includes a comprehensive look at the overall enclosure process to ensure all aspects are considered for optimal building performance.

Learning Objectives:

  1.  Attendants will be able to list steps to verify code compliance for punched windows.
  2. Attendants will be able to identify what ANSI SPRI ES-1 is and what to coordinate.
  3. Attendants will be able to identify what ASCE 7 is and what to coordinate.
  4. Attendants will be able to identify what is required and not required in Oregon for Air Barrier verification per code.
